Donisthorpe Hall gained £4,500 thanks to a coffee and bagel morning held at the Moortown home of Jane and Graham Clynes, which some 250 attended.

The event was held in memory of Donisthorpe’s late head of volunteers, Audrey Manning, who died in August last year at the age of 74.
Son-in-law Graham said Audrey was still a part of their family’s lives and certainly with them in spirit: “The magnificent sum raised is testament to how highly Audrey was regarded in the community.”

Audrey’s daughter Suzanne said the event had a special buzz: “It was a mega-morning and mum would have been delighted with the results.”
Close friends Pam and Philip Glynn were openers and Gloria Ehrlich and Sonia Lawrence were guests of honour.
