Leeds Chaverim held a successful Bagel Brunch last month, with the proceeds benefitting the UJIA Extended School Day Programme in the Merom HaGalil region of Northern Israel. The programme extends the school day to 3.30pm (normally 1pm) and supports over 2,000 children. The UJIA, in conjunction with Keren Karev – the primary intervening organisation for the Ministry of Education, operates a 30-week programme in 28 kindergartens and five primary schools.
